DOK Pittsburgh Assembly News

Printer-friendly version
Dear Daughters of the King in the Pittsburgh Assembly,
“Grace and peace to you in the name of our Lord, Jesus Christ.”  During this relaxed time of summer I bring you both glad and sad news.  The glad news is that at our Fall Assembly (Saturday, October 26) we are going to be able to meet (vicariously, at least) some of the international Daughters in our Order.  We will have a very short but wonderful video made by new National DOK President, Pam Runyon, on her international travels during the last Triennium when she was International Chair.
Dr. Theresa Newell, one of our own Pittsburgh Assembly Daughters, is going to be the speaker at our Fall Assembly.  Theresa is also a frequent world traveler, both as Board Chairman of CMJUSA (a Christian mission to the Jews) and formerly as Director of Extension Ministries for Trinity School for Ministry.  She has helped start several international chapters of our Order, including the newest one at Christ Church, Jerusalem.  Theresa has led many study tours to the Holy Land and, in fact, will be leading one that starts on November 3.  There is room for a few more participants to join the group so a brochure and an application are attached.  Imagine being able to worship at the oldest protestant church in the Middle East and to meet your Israeli sisters in our Order there!
The sad news is that Theresa’s mother died at age 98 and a half on July 1.  Please join me in praying for Theresa and her family.  Expressions of sympathy can be sent to her as follows:
