Saturday, April 28, 2012 - 9:30am - 1:30pm
Our Spring Assembly is fast approaching. It will be held on Saturday, April 28, from 9:30 am to 1:30 pm at Christ Church, New Brighton. The Daughters in the Austin Pardue Chapter will be our hosts. You may download the registration form at the bottom of this story.
Please also remember that our Assemblies are designed for all of the Daughters in all of the chapters to come together in fellowship to worship, to learn and to share ideas. Our Order is so much more than small chapters. Attend the Spring Assembly to broaden your spiritual horizons and enjoy your Sisters in Christ from other chapters.
Elections will be held at Pittsburgh Assembly’s Spring Assembly. The slate of officers for the next Triennium of the Pittsburgh Assembly of the Order of the Daughters of the King (September 1, 2012 to August 31, 2015):
President—Gail Simpson, Holy Comforter Chapter, Christ Church, Fox Chapel (nominated for 2nd term);
1st Vice President—Von Wilkinson, Bishop Austin Pardue Chapter, Christ Church, New Brighton;
2nd Vice President—Carolyn Booker, Daughter at Large, St. Stephens, Wilkinsburg;
Secretary—Judith Daniels, Ruth Chapter, Good Shepherd, Hazelwood;
Treasurer—Brenda Homer, Daughters of Grace, Trinity, Beaver (nominated for 2nd term).
This is a very balanced slate. If elected, these Daughters would represent both TEC and Anglican persuasions, both chapter and DAL interests, and a variety of geographical areas of our Assembly. In addition, the election of two continuing officers plus three new officers would provide both stability and areas of growth.
You may consider making any further nominations from the floor at that time. If you do so, please bring with you copies of your candidate’s biography. Biographies of the current nominees will be forwarded to you as soon as available. A Renewal of Vows is planned as part of our worship service. Our speaker, The Rev. Tina Lockett, Director of Admissions and Dean of Students at Trinity School for Ministry, will inspire us, and, of course, we will enjoy lunch.
